Or.. You need to have realistic expectations on what a trade was going to look like. There is some fantasy booking out there. The return is pretty solid when you examine it.
This is another great learning experience for the #Flames Pending free agents can influence deals, trading them a year before will net you a better return - especially if you still plan on trading them regardless

I see this point. But there will be older players going forward. And Backlund and Coleman are leaders, And even if Coleman isn’t a captain, he’s a leader.
This obsession that this roster is one the #Flames can compete with is just straight up fabricated from nothing real Not a single P/O game in the Huberdeau/Kadri era (3 years, almost 4) It’s a CLEAR failure - how many more years are you going to waste waiting for a miracle?
