Story time. In Oct 2023, I got a text from Kyle Merber asking if @CanadianRunning would be interested in breaking the Marco Arop signing to @GrandSlamTrack. We said yes– pitched GST an announcement package. Then the morning of, we were undercut by @CitiusMag by 1-hour… 🤷♂️
Chris Chavez wrote back in June 2024 that Citius had "partnered" with Grand Slam Track. Former GST director of racing Kyle Merber also used to work for Citius. Chavez also did commentary for GST Miami (+ one day of Philly). https://t.co/kCITgAfMby

Let's Run did the reporting, and got a long response from Chavez. This is the key graph to me: Citius doesn't see itself as journalism. Which is fine! But it's good to keep in mind when reading or listening to what they produce. https://t.co/HLp2BOIKXE

Would love to hear from @ChrisChavez @CitiusMag what services they provided to one of the most important companies in track & field this year to be owed over a quarter of a million dollars.
Grand Slam's top creditors include several superstar runners and Citius Mag, to which it owes over $270,000

Boy this doesn’t seem kind
@BenMullin Feel free to call for comment if you ever want the facts that I am able to share. Of course I wouldn’t comment on specific performance issues around a particular reporter but there are no layoffs.

Brutal yet impeccably fair.
We read @DylanByers piece on some recent goings-on at @wsj and decided it could benefit from the kind of fact-checking that we here at the Journal take very seriously. Fair and accurate, that's our style! Let's take a look: 🧵
