Just played this game on chesscom and luckily wasn’t playing against a certain world champion or would certainly be accused of cheating 😅

Even in kids events, you can also find instructive material. It’s Black to play and hold the fortress.

I had thought Karsten Muller’s QGD Effective Middlegame training would be a normal puzzle book but what is this first page 😂 .Already looking like a fantastic training resource for advanced players

A position from the book that I like to give the kids - White to play and win. The first move is quite easy. The rest of the sequence, not so.

Was delighted to see this post this morning referring to the book 'Secrets of Spectacular Chess'. Kevin is grandmaster and many time Singaporean champion.

After this rather high praise, can any kind folks send me pictures of my team mates? We could not find a single match picture, and only found 2 random post games one 😅.

The concept of the World Rapid and Blitz team event is actually really good. There were so many kids and amateurs who get to play alongside their heroes. In the blitz, you even get a guaranteed chance to play them. The recreational board is typically helmed by the sponsor -.

At the technical meeting of the World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships. Seeing many of the fide ops team running around gives me super strong WCC vibes and nostalgia 😭.

Gukesh has always had that resilience and this time it really paid off. Still, mind boggling throw from Magnus who you would bet your house on to win that position. It’s completely understandable why he got so mad.

Tin Jingyao continues to break new grounds - first Singaporean to win the Zone 3.3 Championships, qualifying for the FIDE World Cup. He also crossed 2600 on a published rating list today. True, it’s 2601 but it will continue growing.

Ivanchuk’s last-round game was a roller coaster, but the 56-year-old Ukrainian legend pulled through once again, clinching victory at the Menorca Chess Open with an impressive 8/9 score and a 2807 performance. 🙌. 📸: @davidllada

Tin Jingyao finished with 7/10 and 6th position in this strong open and finally crossed 2600 again. Not at all an easy path for the boy!

Sad news about Peter Long passing away. He was always so passionate, so emotional, so engaged. When Peter served as a Secretary of FIDE Trainers Commission, I had many talks with him - and he was always dedicating so much of his time and soul to the game of chess. He did not
