Ringo Starr's drum kit sold for a record $2.2 million at Julien’s Auctions on December 5, 2015. Ringo played the Ludwig Oyster Black Pearl kit in over 200 performances According to AFP, Jim Irsay, owner of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts put in the winning bid for the drum kit.

December 4. 1971 the Montreux Casino in Switzerland burnt to the ground during a gig by Frank Zappa. The incident is immortalized by Deep Purples 's 'Smoke On The Water' using a mobile recording studio rented from the Rolling Stones and known as the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio.
