As of today, it's unclear who will represent Loomer in the case, which is in the middle district of Florida after Klayman's 2-year suspension begins next month, or whether Klayman will be able to file a response to the dismissal motion before then.

Meanwhile, on Nov. 3, Klayman released a video asking Trump to help settle the case. "I'd like you to contact Bill Maher & say 'it's time, Bill....Please settle this thing w/ Laura Loomer...I know that she loves you. Not in a sexual sense, of course.'" https://t.co/sXlE2IuVg7

Klayman did not notify the court of his suspension until 3 days after Maher's lawyers did so. In his filing he called the suspension "unconstitutional & illegal" and separately said that Maher's lawyers should be sanctioned for bringing up his suspension in court.

Specifically, the court found he'd represented 3 clients against Judicial Watch without proper notice/consent and that he'd refused to stop representing a client to whom he'd expressed romantic feelings

Klayman is a former federal prosecutor & founder of Judicial Watch. He's been called "pathologically litigious" & was disciplined multiple times by the DC appeals court for ethical issues. Last week, Florida's Supreme Court sided with the state bar in suspending his license.

Loomer sued Maher in Oct 2024 because of jokes he made about her having a sexual relationship with Donald Trump in an episode of Real Time the previous month. "Who’s Trump Fucking?," Maher said. "I think it might be Laura Loomer. I’m just saying." Full text from that episode:

Interesting new wrinkle in Laura Loomer's defamation suit vs Bill Maher: her lawyer, Larry Klayman, just had his license suspended for 2 years & won't be able to represent her as of Dec. 6 It comes as Maher just filed a motion to dismiss claiming there was no defamation.

The committee's policy, dictated by chairman James Comer, is to never reveal the names of victims & indeed the R majority has followed that in all other Epstein dumps. But after the WH named Giuffre on Weds, the majority put out an un-redacted version, breaking its own rules.

The decision to redact Giuffre's name (as it was presented by Democrats on the committee Weds morning) has become the main talking point for right wing outlets, which call it a conspiracy to create an anti-Trump narrative. I wrote about that focus here: https://t.co/MhIZJqlYLh

Right-wing outlets have focused on a single redacted name in the 23,000 pages of correspondence related to Jeffrey Epstein that were released on Wednesday.

Indiana recently passed a law requiring schools to teach "intellectual diversity" and used the law to justify the removal after a student complained to Sen. Jim Banks about the chart. @stefsaul https://t.co/NZQF8x7lTf

Wolf River said it's seeking over $100M in damages from Google, which told me in a statement that as soon as it learned of the problems, it "acted quickly to fix it." Yet when I searched for Wolf River this Monday, here was the result the AI overview served up:

The company, Wolf River Electric, is a solar contractor. It's never been sued and has many 5-star ratings. But time and again the "AI Overview" as well as Google's autocomplete suggested otherwise. Here's one of the results the company found in late 2024
