I am deeply saddened of the passing of Tom Seaver. I had the honor of unsuccessfully hitting against him & having as a teammate. He is the greatest Met of all time. No one will ever surpass him that wears the orange & blue. My condolences to Nancy & his family. Tears.

It’s with a heavy heart that I must tell you that I had to put Hadji down last week. It was his time to go. I loved him so much and miss him dearly. He was a great companion for 22 yrs. RIP my little guy.

This is not right. My former major leaguers and teammates are slowly moving off into the sunset. I am really upset about Bill Buckner’s passing. He’s another guy I wished I could have played with, not just against. He was a terrific hitter as well as a human being. Tears.

My heart goes out to Ron Darling. I know that Ron will beat this insidious disease. I’m heartened to hear that his doctors are very optimistic for a full recovery. I will stop at my church this day and light a candle for Ron and his entire family. I look forward to RJ’s return.

I am so saddened to hear of Bill Buckner’s death at who had been suffering from dementia. 69 years is too young. I know from my mother who also suffered from dementia, that he is in a better place. Bill and I battled to the last day of the 1980 season for the batting title.

Pete Alonso has been very impressive so far. He has showed me impressive strength, the line drive he hit in game 2 off the right -center field fence stunned me. Only Stanton hits line drives that hard. He has shown good plate discipline (Good eye at plate) thus far.

Met this lovely couple just after the Belmont race last night at Clarke’s. Both in their early 90’s, healthy, minds sharp as a tack & such positive attitudes. They met 68 years ago when at school at Syracuse. He’s a old Yankee fan. Saw Babe Ruth play. They were inspirational.
