I've posted regularly here since 2009. I've tried to use the platform constructively, and I've learned a lot from you all. But, so long as the site remains under its current owner, I won't post here any more. If you want stay in touch, there's a link below. Warm wishes to all! K.

Philosophy has long made a virtue of difficulty and obscurity but why can’t it be as clear as any other form of writing?

Would anyone be interested in attending a series of online introductory lectures on the philosophy of consciousness (the whole field, not just my views) Say, 2 x 90 min lectures a week for 8 weeks. If so, how much would you be willing to pay for the series? Pls answer by dm only.

Sad to hear of the death of Brian Murphy. He was a wonderful actor and I'm sure a lovely man. I recall an episode of One Foot in the Grave in which he gave a brilliant performance as a man hiding suicidal depression behind a mask of inane garrulity. My condolences to @Linda_Regan.

I particularly hate those tests where you have to say what the next number in a sequence is. It could be anything! Here's an example -- a simple principle but not easy to find:.3, 3, 5, 4, 4, 3 . What's the answer?.

I don't think I have a high IQ (I'm terrible at test-taking), and, judging by the behaviour of folk who claim to have one, I wouldn't want one.
