we're likely not having a tournament of this scale until the next smash game, which is realistically probably like at LEAST 1 year from now or something. but till then im gonna try to attend every local and keep hanging out with the community. long live smash ph.

and afterward i hugged luke and he looked like he was on the verge of tears which also got me on the verge of tears HAHA like wow it was actually over. i was sooooo tired but in a good way? but i was still physically really tired lmao.

after the awarding ceremony, i watched everyone crowding around taking pics with the foreign players and asking for signatures, and i joined in some pics on the stage as well, and it just all felt so nice, like everyone was there first and foremost for the love of the game.

watching top 8 was soooooo fun man i love the vibe so much. i've always wanted to eventually visit one supernova or kagaribi, mainly for the vibe of watching a supermajor top 8, and now that i got a little taste, i reaaaaally wanna go haha.

tournament wise, placed 25th/148, which is like whatever it's ok, but considering i was also tired out of my mind, i think i did well :D i've been mainly playing for fun in our local tournaments, but i wanted to tryhard for this one and at least make top 32, so im glad i got it

thank goodness day 2 wasn't as demanding, and i could ACTUALLY PLAY FRIENDLIES (i only played paroka LMAO) (i didnt actually wanna play any of the jp players tbh cause i felt i was just gonna get steamrolled and not actually learn anything).

come the day of the event, i volunteered to help with setting up the venue and managing the pools. holy moly i've never been so tired LMAO i didnt think it was gonna be that tiring. i was walking around for most of 8am-9pm on day 1 and keeping track of 8 sets at the same time.

and it got me feeling more hopeful than ever about the event! eventually more people started showing interest in going, and the numbers were going up, and everything was looking super hype!!.

eventually i heard about the first confirmed international invite and that kinda sealed it for me, that this event would be the most prestigious event we've ever had, and maybe ever will have. and showed me how serious these guys were about hosting as big of an event as possible.
