Breaking news of my own to share. After 36 years, I am leaving KSDK. I’ve had an amazing run thanks to the support of so many viewers, coworkers, and my family. Here’s a letter I shared with coworkers this afternoon. My last day is July 18.

And in the last year alone they've invested $15 million in community health programs to make sure people understand how to screen, and have access to resources.

They've invested nearly $1.1 billion in research, which has led to new ways to prevent and detect breast cancer.

Since 1989, the Susan G. Komen Foundation has used funds to help give access to early detection screenings and effective treatments, which has decreased the breast cancer mortality rate in the U.S. by 43%!

The facts about breast cancer are startling. But, there is something you can do to help. By donating to the Komen BigWig fundraiser, you can help them make progress to eliminate breast cancer.

Women under 40 account for about 4% of breast cancers, but breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death for women between ages 20 and 39.
