I think either has its pros and cons With a background it's more of a complete art piece but a character in white space is also nice because it's easier to focus on the character art itself

I've been wondering when it comes to colored illustrations, do people prefer having a background (like an environment) with it or just character in white space

Full colored illustrations take me forever and it really tires me out to just finish one, so it's tough to find the time and energy for it anymore. Also, it is becoming clear to me that... y'all really like dem horse drawings huh
