I'm doing an online AI course and it talks about the pitfalls and mistakes of it all. And honestly, it's not like humans don't do that shit but worse because humans won't change and improve at the rate AI will so we're all kinda screwed I guess.

Keen to point out that self checkout is HELL for us ADHDers. I avoid them like the plague and when it's absolutely unavoidable (like 2-3 times a year) I end up accidentally stealing something because self checkout is ableist AF.

Literally not an economist, but I kinda wanna point out that a really BIG portion of the cost of things are the cost of the actual literal space things are made, managed and sold which is heavily driven by rent and OH WAIT THE INTEREST RATE ON THE PROPERTY LOANS.
