Some beautiful kidney dissections in our Yr11 into 12 day. No smell of urine and the use of hydrogen peroxide is a revelation!

This year I've started an inter-sixth form wider reading chart. Students are rewarded for any reading/watching they are doing to extend their SK. Students have started sharing books with each other (and me!)...just got this dropped off on my desk 🥹

Following the guidance yesterday, I have created excel spreadsheets with spec points separated by a) definitely in the assessment b) definitely not in c) grey area. I have this for edexcel triple biology higher, combined biology higher and foundation. Want a copy? Let me know ☺️

Literacy based lesson today where Yr9s read all about the discovery of the structure of DNA 🧬 with various scaffolded tasks. The lesson ended with students writing their opinion on the discovery & commented on if there was any possible sexism occurring…they had thoughts 🤣

Spent department time being taught different ways to balance equations. I was taught two new ways (think outside the box and the line one). Taught them to students and they had a 💡 moment! In the assessment saw they had done this ✅ success!

Local garage picked up my car whilst I taught, carried out the MOT and remedial work, and returned it in time to drive home 🥳 game changer 🤯
