principles for maintaining social life in nyc (while staying sane):
- accept that you will always be behind on texts
- carve out 1-2 nights/week for silence
- be completely shameless asking people to hang on short notice
- aim for 50/50 balance of spontaneous vs planned hangouts
a few others for me:
- meditate 30mins each morning before accessing the internet
- put phone on airplane mode for extended periods of time in the day, & definitely when going to bed at night
- accept there will be people you wanna hang with 1:1 but you (or they) won't be able to
