if we are effective organizers, we should be able to credibly respond in moments of mass political consciousness despite our built-in structural and analytical orientation away from these organizing areas reject a binary; we can & should do it all. both the ballots & the streets
an organization oriented towards how we’re very much not in a revolutionary moment being caught flat footed when we get a bit closer to one shouldn’t be a terribly controversial concept

a really underrated element of being a young queer person in dsa is having an immediately accessible community of slightly older queer people

it is so abjectly disqualifying to be touting the positions of congressional leadership precisely as an organized labor base actively engages a historic mass direct action against ice abundantly clear that you cannot both say this and be considered a socialist-in-office
This is ridiculous. If you can’t take the gloves off now for those who are responsible for sending us all to hell then you never will.

The CLC has a duty to balance several considerations: the impulse of the membership, applying a *more* robust tactical scrutiny than we have to prior congressional campaigns, and the political consequences of each outcome. Weighing these implications, my duty is to vote yes.

Voting yes on both endorsements is a calculated risk, one that undoubtedly strains the operational integrity of our electoral program. But it is also a vote to remarry NYC-DSA with a federal socialist electoral project and operate, in a way we never have before, like a party.

Running these two different projects -- the DSA flagbearer and the Palestine organizer -- synthesizing their political differences into a coherent vision and subordinating them to member leadership, will radically transform our approach to federal elections for the better.

Each represent important course-corrections to the AOC project. We've metabolized a refusal to be a silent junior partner, even when it forces us into uncomfortable confrontations with progressives, but also of engaging rather than punching to our left and widening our politics.

On its face, these are opposite projects. Claire is the quintessential cadre candidate -- a former chapter leader running a campaign that will be ran in-house, top-to-bottom. Darializa is the quintessential movement candidate -- an organizer bringing a new coalition into DSA.

I'm voting to endorse both Claire and Darializa. CLC members are rightfully grappling with the many operational challenges running both campaigns presents. It's good to be cautious. That said, both candidates represent huge steps forward in the maturity of NYC-DSA's project.

constantly super fucking proud to be in this formation. quoting @ahmedfromthere: "the moment continues to demand discipline, creativity, and collective genius. with new ideas and unrelenting perseverance, we can and will overcome the fascist terror unleashed on our communities."

We need to talk more about how, under the pretext of women's liberation and human rights, some Western feminist organizations have at times reinforced Islamophobia by portraying the hijab as a symbol of oppression, persistently linking it to backwardness and lack of civilization,

nothing brings me more joy than emerging leaders volunteering to take on public speaking roles i've seen them flinch from in the past. this has been a weekend of seeing a few people across several projects i work on accept new responsibilities and that makes me really happy

increasingly frustrated by the leftist position that students, women, minorities etc in the third world are shifting pawns of passivity / idling agents of history only to be viewed in proximity to empire
