.@UpstateBSB has a Friday workhorse it can lean on in former Division III transfer Chris Torres (@ChrisTorres_33). The LHP posted a 4.76 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 81.1 innings last year and will enter 2026 on the short list of contenders for Big South Pitcher of the Year honors.

One high-ceiling option for @UpstateBSB's rotation is projectable 6-foot-5, 190-pound righthander Cayden Mackey (@cayden_mackey). The sophomore shows a high-spin fastball from 91-94 mph alongside a low-80s slider that had a 42% whiff rate last season.

Redshirt sophomore Maloy Heaghney, a junior college transfer from Jefferson County (Mo.) CC, projects to start at shortstop for @UpstateBSB. The coaching staff is excited about his upside and the possibility of him having a monster breakout season in the Big South.

The most notable returner for @UpstateBSB, Johnny Sweeney (@jwsweeney17) finally had a healthy season in 2025 and excelled by batting .345/.500/.701 with 15 doubles, 18 home runs and 82 RBIs. Heโll be in the 2026 lineup everyday batting in the third or fourth spot.
