Not to say I will never seek work in animation. I still appreciate and enjoy concept and vis dev work. Im just at a point in my life where I find making illustrations and being my own art director more fulfilling ππ.

In the past, I had dreams to work primarily in the animation industry. But I quickly realized that my passions didn't align with the aesthetics and workflow trending in most major companies. Instead, I was more passionate about anime illustrations.

To make a living as an artist, you need to "play the game" to a certain extent. This doesn't apply to just social media but to art industries as well. Each industry has a "game" you need to play in order to thrive. Finding balance with yourself and "the game" is the struggle.
I think any creative endeavor should have a purpose, even if it is to not have one at all. seeing the comments makes me believe too many people are using platform analytics as an excuse to not even try. I don't think I saw many comments saying "hey im just here to draw for fun".
