Lost respect for him saying that he doesn’t want film to become niche like ballet and opera? This is off the rails now.
Anonymous Oscars voters reveal to EW their juicy picks for who will win at the Academy Awards, including one actor who slammed Timothée Chalamet's recent comments: 'Lost a lot of respect for him.'

For goodness sake, he did not belittle ballet or opera. He was trying to say that he doesn’t want film to become niche like those. How is that “dismissive” if he acknowledges that film could go the same way? What he said was clumsily worded but is being massively misunderstood.
Timothèe’s PR team working overtime. Vanity Fair, New York Times being like ‘hey he has a point- they’re not as popular’. To me, that’s not the point. He was dismissive of art forms that have sustained hundreds of years, that take such dedication and precision. There was NO NEED

Every time he’s mentioned this it is in the context of worrying about movies/theater going becoming niche. I really can’t believe the way some of you are going on about this.
Timothée Chalamet controversially claimed "no one cares" about ballet and opera anymore, causing uproar across the internet and the arts industry. CNN's Lisa Respers France reports.

What are some of the people in the quotes on about? It’s extremely clear who actually read the article. The number of people who clearly didn’t is indicative of how cooked this generation really is.
#TimothéeChalamet says Gen Z will have to “figure out how to integrate” AI into society: “It will be on your generation, and mine to an extent, to know how to ethically integrate it... There’s a huge [responsibility for] people that are positions of power now, like myself, like

The way a lot of people on here project their own feelings onto celebrities is very weird. Twitter brain-rot is real.

BTW, his full GMA interview was posted showing the previous clip was edited and further proving he was not speaking about awards. Please do actual research/journalism next time and don’t base articles off of hate posts on Twitter.

Do some of you not realize you are doing to Marty what you are accusing the author of doing to Sinners? There’s a lot of factors as to why the film opening to $27 million is considered a success, just as there was for why Sinners’ opening was a success. Two wrongs make a right?
Timothée Chalamet is officially the king of the Christmas box office. It’s the third consecutive holiday season where the A-list star has dominated at the box office, a reign that began with 2023’s family-friendly musical “Wonka” and continued with 2024’s Bob Dylan biopic “A

Why is every publication misquoting his GMA interview? He said “…I want the movie to succeed and I want everything to win IN THE FILM INDUSTRY.” He was talking about the success of theatrical, not awards. This is starting to feel like it’s INTENTIONALLY disingenuous.

“She dreamt big, she dreamt bigger than all of us. Who wasn’t moved by that? I remember that like it was yesterday. That was like the advent of YouTube, you know.” That was his complete quote about Susan Boyle.
Timothée Chalamet, when asked what Brits would be worthy of a ‘Marty Supreme’ jacket: “Lewis Hamilton, Victoria and David… who else, man? Fakemink. Susan Boyle—’cause she dreamt bigger than all of us.”

I’m genuinely dumbfounded. Did ANYONE actually watch the video? He is literally not speaking about himself or awards at all. Like what are people going on about? I’ve never seen more people blatantly lying seemingly in hopes of a viral tweet. Extremely weird behavior.

“…I want the movie to succeed and I want everything to win in the film industry” I’m truly dumbfounded how anyone misconstrued this into him talking about himself and awards. One of the most disingenuous leaps I have seen on here in a while. 🤯
"But the real truth is, with Marty Supreme, I feel confident to the degree that by next summer, I don't know, man. Should I not be saying this? I feel like it'll... Well, no. I'm confident. I know what it's going to be by next summer." #TimothéeChalamet

Either not enough people saw Marty or this group just hates Timothee.

Last year’s late release, ACU, also missed here before scoring the nomination at BAFTA and the Oscars. So not sure why I’m seeing people thinking that this killed Marty and Ann Lee’s chances?

He should sue because that is not what he said or meant. If you actually watch the clip the contacts and glasses were at the request of Safdie, his director. I continue to be baffled how people can just get away with lying online. Twitter brain-rot is real.
Timothée Chalamet tells Margaret Gardiner he wore contacts that messed up his vision so he could truly wear prescriptive glasses for his ‘Marty Supreme’ performance.

What’s funny is that if you look at the comments on the original tiktok of this clip, most of them immediately understood what he is saying and agreed with him. The dichotomy of that versus whatever is happening here is eye opening. Twitter brain-rot is real.
