We mapped these core elements into existing measures to help researchers select the right constructs and tools for their question. We think this approach helps identify which elements matter most for child development. Plus, we spotted some gaps where we need more research!.

We break down multiple constructs (infant intentionality, mental representations, mind-mindedness, parental embodied mentalizing, empathy, reflective functioning) into their core elements. Instead of treating them as separate, we looked at both their unique and shared elements.

🚨New paper from @MEDVanderbilt! We longitudinally examined caregivers’ feelings of bonding with their infants during the early postpartum period and found that bonding difficulties initially increased before improving after the first month postpartum.
