I'd love to hear your thoughts!
DevOps and Cloud are red-hot trends in the IT market, but you don't really need to learn a laundry list of 50-60 tools to call yourself a DevOps or Cloud pro! 🙅🏻♂️
Instead, focus on mastering these four crucial skills that form the bedrock of the DevOps/Cloud world:
My goal is to find a company that:
➼ Is remote
➼ Has management that doesn't micro-manage
➼ Extremely flexible hours
➼ Is not over-working their employees
Do such companies exist, or are they a pipe dream?
I receive a lot of LinkedIn connections, but very few with a message.
I cannot stress how important those are.
Here are some guidelines and templates you can use (make sure to add your own style):
My biggest advice to get a (remote) job:
Be seen.
Join communities, learn in public, contribute to other people’s projects etc. These will make you stand out, demonstrate your hard work and attract potential employers.
Coding acronyms that just make sense🤓
DRY - Don't Repeat Yourself
KISS - Keep It Stupid Simple
YAGNI - You Aren't Gonna Need It
SLAP - Single Level of Abstraction Principle
SOC - Separation Of Concerns

If you work exclusively remote I recommend going to meetups, conferences and events near you because real life human interaction can work wonders for the mind and soul.
Learning to code is hard, and it's even harder to justify your time when it feels like you're just not seeing results.
But carry on, there's light at the end of the tunnel!! 💡

Please don't send "hi" DMs like you're in high school!!
Be genuine when you message someone, explain why you're reaching out, and try to add value.
Conversations in DMs are invaluable and can eventually lead you to opportunities you can't find in job ads.
I dare you to start a blog today!

I remember that a little over a month ago I knew no code at all, and that keeps my spirits up even though I'm struggling with

8-hour days are a waste of time, yet nobody wants to admit that. You can accomplish everything you need to do in 4 hours of laser-focused work.
Don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise.

✦ How to Contribute to Open Source for the First Time ✦
It may not be perfect, but I put some time into it cause I wanted to motivate those who may be afraid to take the first step. Any feedback is welcome :)
My 6-month coding journey with

in 1 tweet:
- Started Class 1
- Got hooked
- Learnt HTML, CSS and JS
- Then Node & Express
- Contributed to Open Source
- Started building full-stack web applications
The journey hasn't been easy.
But so so so...
Fulfilling.
It's no wonder why people struggle with learning.
It's simple: The system works AGAINST you.
You need to fight.
I'm learning how to code: it's painful, but it's easy if you plan ahead.
Here are 9 secrets on how to learn anything👇
Haters are always gonna hate.
It is

You will never be criticized by someone who is doing more than you. You will only be criticized by someone doing less.
Master Git basics!! 👇
1️⃣ Git Push:
It's like the "Upload" button. Push sends your code from your computer to a shared online spot (remote repo), enabling team collaboration, just like sharing a document online.
APIs are so freaking cool! Things are finally starting to come together. First time

There's more to the tech industry than just software engineering.
The SWE market is saturated. I've seen it myself – tons of folks eager to become SWEs, going through bootcamps, but then struggling to find jobs.
There are other paths worth exploring!
