With Beatrice d'Hombres @LBDH_FR , I wrote a chapter of this report for the EU Commission, where we show who is most affected by loneliness and how this has changed during the pandemic. This information is a first step to designing a coordinated public health response.

Loneliness is a profoundly painful experience, something almost everyone has felt at some point, and that is bad for psychological and physical health. If loneliness becomes widespread, due to the way we collectively organize our lives, it becomes a public health question.

Panic in No 10 about the union but surprising it’s taken them by surprise. Trying to retain Scotland, after a period where its lack of veto power on fundamental political questions (Ie Brexit/no deal) has been/is being revealed repeatedly, was always going to be very difficult.
