O Christmas tree, o cosmic tree 🎄 Located about 2,500 light-years from Earth, NGC 2264 is a cluster of young stars between one and five million years old. The stars appear as blue and white lights surrounded by swirls of gas—the “pine needles” of the tree—with green

G11.2-0.3: Supernova Ejected from the Pages of HistoryWhat a cosmic plot twist! The supernova remnant G11.2-0.3, located about 16,000–30,000 light-years away in Sagittarius, was long thought to be the remains of a "guest star" spotted by Chinese astronomers in 386 CE. But new

The Crab Nebula (also known as Messier 1) is the remnant of a supernova explosion recorded by astronomers in 1054 AD, visible even in daylight for weeks. Located about 6,500 light-years away in the constellation Taurus, it's one of the most studied objects in the

My latest capture - a dark molecular cloud (LDN 1642) of dust and gas that rises high above the Milky Way's main disk. Many distant galaxies can be seen in the upper right. I used my Celestron RASA telescope, a ZWO ASI533MC color camera, and an Antlia L-Filter.
