The extension that was impersonating vscode solidity (and many others following the same pattern) have been removed. We have seen that a fake extension or virus can spam many downloads (if that was their technique). So how to identify is the right extension? The best way is to

A factor in my exit from Consensys was the stupid amount of head-space it was taking responding to the SEC's unhinged subpoenas, though our fabulous legal team bore 99% of the load. They eventually hired an entire lawyer just to work on this. Arbitrary and capricious indeed.

From my lens in the other side of the planet, the SEC has been either completely incompetent, or utterly corrupt. The former is very hard to justify, as they could have acted straight away to find and prosecute real scammers, protecting the public. Clear guidelines as technology

Thinking about Ethereum in 2015, and now, it feels much the same. Idk why? maybe the level of maturity we (I) believed it had then, it is the actual level of maturity we have now. Although now Ethereum has literally reached every corner.
