at some point we need to talk about how twitter leftists are part of the problem. it takes two seconds to google “resisting fascism through satire” but y’all aren’t doing the readings either. just pumping out the same totalitarian paradox from the opposite side of the horseshoe.

i can’t help but think about how if the bridgertons hadn’t been there to protect her, araminta might’ve actually taken sophie all the way to the gallows
Araminta got off too easy!! She robbed her childhood and dream of a family, made her work as a maid, kicked her out of her own home, stole her dowry and sent her to prison. Sophie deserved to slap her!

i also lowkey like the idea that instead of michaela inheriting kilmartin via scottish custom, a child inherits it kinda like with the Mondriches, but he’s an orphan so franchaela adopts him and raises him as their own 💕

Ben: you are not a WOMB Francesca! stop thinking about yourself as a baby incubator bc you don’t have to produce a child in order to become a mother! you are literally describing exactly what you had with John, the 'perfect man', but you were never fulfilled BECAUSE he was a MAN.

i hope fran gives a whole monologue to ben about how much easier it’d be if michaela were a man who could inherit kilmartin so they could marry and have an heir (aka the book) just so ben can reply with EVERY SINGLE THING we’ve been telling the widows this entire time

do NOT drag matthew mcconaughey into this bc UT film school does not PLAY about artistic appreciation. do you know how hard it is to write a one-page essay over the aesthetic influences of METROPOLIS??? took a week just to cut down the word count 😭

if you put hyaluronic acid on dry skin it’s STILL going to bind to water, but now that water is being pulled out of your skin instead. you need water physically present in order for lotion to do you any good. when your skin is wet enough you shouldn’t even need to rub anything in

lotion has hyaluronic acid and glycerin. HA binds to water and glycerin mimics your skin cells to suck everything into your pores. when skin is wet, you just slather it on and wait. with towel-dried skin, it only sits on top. that’s why it feels greasy and takes forever to rub in

it reminds me of watching Gentleman Jack and learning it was all true, or discovering Charlotte actually was mixed historical fantasy is fun and all, but sometimes the real satisfaction comes from revealing the truth and making sure that historians who try to rewrite it fail 💕

and in a world where the law was designed and dictated by lords for their total benefit, illustrating how women honed the societal norms they were tasked with upholding into progress they wanted to see IS significant nullifying legality through solidarity? that’s powerful stuff.

I know Bridgerton is historical fantasy but imagine the power in making their story actually mirror reality. the TRUTH is there were several well-to-do lesbian couples who were actively supported and protected by their fellow women community. legitimacy didn’t always equal law—

unpopular opinion but idc if they get married, it’s not a necessity for their HEA imo it’s way more meaningful to see regency sapphics take agency, rejecting an oppressive institution to love each other out in the open, than for the Ton to only accept them bc "the queen said so"
so this may be a dumb question but when they get married i’m assuming michaela takes on the kilmartin name (if she inherits the estate) and they both become lady kilmartin?

this is my “franchaela stealing glances of each other as they both dance with someone else at violet’s birthday ball” scene headcanon
Luke: There’s not enough Latin music in Bridgerton. I’ll say it. Yerin: I agree, I agree Luke: Where are the big Bad Bunny covers? Where are the Nathy Peluso covers? What’s going on? See?? Even the Bridgerton cast want some sazón, batería y reguetón ey ey

I don’t think Violet is evil for pushing Eloise to marry. Her duty was to use their marriages to secure even higher status re: countess fran, duchess daphne. But to claim Eloise had no security because she’s beholden to a male family member is ABSURD. that’s what MARRIAGE did too

I’m not saying Violet’s wrong, but a rich British nobleman was more likely to be forgiven by society for manslaughter than for mistreating an honorable spinster of his household. Eloise had more security as an unmarried woman of peerage than the average working class man ever saw

it’s so funny how americans copy-paste whatever was happening in the US onto everyone’s history. heiresses were SWIMMING across the pond to snag a duke so our gov couldn’t sign their inheritance over to their husband, meanwhile the heir to the British throne was literally a woman
I desperately need you all to understand. Eloise does not have money. Her brother has money- that for all she knows, his child may or may not continue to share with her. Marriage was security for women. Violet is not this evil mother you are trying to portray her as.
