Lynx Legend Sylvia Fowles’ No. 34 went into the rafters at Target Center last night. I wrote about a wonderful celebration of a truly special, one-of-a-kind human being — Sweet Syl — whom I will remember for everything fans didn’t see. For @canishoopus:

Naz Reid tonight (22 PTS, 10 REB) became the 3rd player in the league this season with 3 double-doubles off the bench. Only Charlotte's Moussa Diabaté (4) has more, per @Stathead / @bball_ref . 👉🔗 https://t.co/0AUn0s52Lt https://t.co/hTJGTeVcBb

Have to imagine that's the last we'll see of Anthony Edwards with the Wolves up 25 with 2 minutes left in the 3Q. Might be a night where Chris Finch can let Dillingham, Beringer, and Hyland carry the 4Q load

Jaden McDaniels has made a pair of right slot 3s to extend this lead out to 30. His spot-up shooting reaching this level is a huge reason the Wolves boast a top-5 offense. McDaniels is shooting a career-high 53.3% on C&S 3s on 2.3 a night. He shot 33.2% a year ago

Stars are getting more aggressive in the 2H. Anthony Edwards scored just 8 points in the first 24 minutes, while Cooper Flagg attempted only 4 shots in a 6-point half. Both players scored 5 points in the opening 3 minutes and change of the 2H, each looking far more aggressive

Jamal Murray consistently beat Anthony Edwards off the dribble on Saturday night and Brandon Williams is doing tonight for the Mavericks. If Jaden McDaniels is going to play off-ball more, Edwards simply needs to do a better job of containing the ball and navigating screens

Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle had a combined 7 points on 2/11 FG in the first 21 minutes They closed the half with 11 points on 4/7 shooting to help balloon the lead back to a comfortable 17, 61-44, at the break. Naz Reid leads all scorers with 19 for the Wolves

Jaylen Clark's defensive activity jumps off the court in a way that is so rare. Guy is just everywhere all at once

Thought that was a positive stint for Rob Dillingham. Floor game was good, made the right reads and some nice passes on the move after getting past the first line of the defense, had a nice steal. 0/3 from 3 will stand out, but thought he looked very comfortable offensively.

Rob Dillingham has played 123 minutes this season but only 17 of them (13.8%) alongside Anthony Edwards. Rare opportunity for him to try and run the show alongside an offensive engine taking the majority of the attention

Jaden McDaniels is so creative after he catches the ball and before he puts it on the deck. His intentionality with movement and fakes on the catch create so much space for him to unleash his handle, pull-ups, and drives to the rim for scores. Ton of fun to watch it

Wolves close the final 3:08 of the 1Q on a 13-2 run to take a 34-21 lead on a depleted Mavs squad on the second night of a home/road back-to-back. Every Timberwolves player who played 5+ minutes scored... except for Anthony Edwards, who is 0/3 with 2 fouls.

Defenders then played further off Naz Reid, so he stepped into and hit a 3 atop the key, then extended pressure allows him to get on the move and score inside on Flagg. Beautiful start for Reid, who has a game-high 10 points in 4 minutes off the Wolves bench

Love the Chicago action to get Naz Reid the rock on the move headed towards the basket, resulting in an and-1. While Reid's corner 3-point shooting is essential, getting him in motion is going to increase pressure on the defense and help him find a rhythm earlier in the game

Naz Reid talks frequently about how he'd be a better quarterback than Anthony Edwards 0/1 on the go balls tonight, overshooting Donte DiVincenzo in transition

Donte DiVincenzo has been exceptional through his first 8 minutes and change. He's made 2 of his 4 triples, hauled in 3 boards, blocked a shot with verticality, forced a D'Angelo Russell turnover in the backcourt, and has made several good hit-aheads in transition to Randle
