Black lives matter, period. MLK said "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" and "a riot is the language of the unheard." These words are so important to reflect upon, and, even more importantly, to serve as a call to ACTION! Donate! Protest! Support! Listen! Vote!

It was such a privilege (and so much dang fun!) getting to work on maps, graphics, data analysis, and cloud infra with the folks @grist on this piece. Chuffed that we won this award and even happier that this amazing piece of reporting is getting the attention it deserves 🙌
WINNER! University of Florida Award for Investigative Data Journalism, Small/Medium Newsroom: Misplaced Trust by @grist, @pulitzercenter and the Data-Driven Reporting Project https://t.co/6ohj0UFa2z

Here's a question about semiring provenance and derivation trees I've been wondering about lately! Anyone able to help out? 🙂 https://t.co/SS4zoeArLQ

Thank you all SO, SO MUCH for your engagement!!! I am so grateful to the amazing STFP community for the overwhelming number of responses to and further sharing of this survey <3 I'm so honored to have your help!
Do you use statically-typed functional programming languages like #haskell, #ocaml, #elmlang, or #fsharp? Do you have ~opinions~ about code style? Then I’d love to hear from you! 😄 Please consider filling out my survey by Nov. 6: https://t.co/qENEh5evoS RTs appreciated! 😊❤️

Hey I'm on the academic job market. I build systems to make programmers smarter, informed by PL theory (to make correct & generalizable tools) and HCI theory (to make humanly-useful tools). Also, students say I'm "one of the best lecturers at Stanford."

Wee, my Strange Loop talk is out! If you're curious about what I've been up to for the last 2+ years at Berkeley—and how I think compilers can radically change how data journalists build interactive graphics—give it a watch!

I'm on the job market! Interested in roles that combine design+engineering to create novel UX (industry research, R&D, frontend, postdoc). My PhD has focused on HCI for programming; also excited about AI-powered tools, end-user creation, complex data, human-AI interaction, etc.

It is only made possible with your encouragement and support, especially considering all the bumps it has gone through!! I am truly grateful to have such an amazing advisor in early career. You really deserve the recognition, and I wish the best for any of your future endeavor!
So my student @YuanYongwei's PLDI paper is being recognized with a Distinguished Paper Award. Awards and other bean-counting aids have meant very little to me, but this one? It certainly made me chuckle. I had asked my Chair after he gave me "the news" what may have helped...
