Thrilled that our study was featured recently by the media as we continue to unravel the beneficial effects of good cholesterol as a new treatment for diabetic wounds. Fun fact: the study that started it all also received media interest in 2016. @ChrisBursill @Khal1a 👩🏻🔬🔬🧫.
SAHMRI researchers have taken a major step towards developing effective treatments for currently incurable diabetic wounds. 🦶. The research shows an important enzyme may be the key to more targeted diabetic wound treatment in the future. 🎥 10 News First Adelaide

Always a thrill to celebrate a PhD student's first publication! This paper builds on our previous findings on the many beneficial effects of the good cholesterol on improving diabetes-impaired wound healing.
The major paper from my PhD has been published in @atvbahajournals! 🎉 We discovered that #HDL improves diabetic wound healing by helping #endothelialcells shut down OXPHOS and survive in hypoxia. An enormous thank you to @ChrisBursill @jotan80 and team ❤️.

It was standing room only for the first session of #sacvrnshowcase2024. It was great to hear insights from the Minister of Health & Aged Care.
SA has the highest proportion of elderly on mainland Australia, and 🫀 disease is the single leading cause of death here. We thank @Mark_Butler_MP for sharing his views on the role of government in managing 🫀 disease in an ageing population #sacvrnshowcase2024
