New post: an in-depth breakdown of all the stats and film on the Golden State Valkyries zone defense, and a quick look at the @valkyries shot selection (spoiler: threes). Also, an early WNBA soundbyte of the year contender.

Flipping the script, how does it look for teams going forward?. The schedule will get even more cramped, while the Sky and Lynx get a reprieve and the Fever don't. Big West Coast trips coming for Connecticut and New York.

WNBA rest check in: which teams have had the shortest turnaround time and travelled the most in between games?. The Chicago Sky have spent a lot of time on the road, while the Minnesota Lynx have gotten the least rest in the league. LA Sparks racking up the miles.

Not only are the Minnesota Lynx on a second consecutive back-to-back, but they've also had the shortest average turnaround time between tipoffs in the WNBA this season. Golden State Valkyries have had the longest average turnaround—that'll change in the second half of the season.

Wednesday Afternoon Fever in Indiana, where the Golden State Valkyries romped to an early camp day win. On a resurgent team defense, rotating and drying the paint, attacking Caitlin Clark, and a great Veronica Burton game:

Two success stories on inbounds, with a new and effective seal aspect to the usual stagger screen SLOB and another success for the backscreen BLOB:

Couple clips that didn't make it: Laeticia Amihere and Tiffany Hayes had some great finishes at the rim.

Golden State Valkyries film recap: losing the turnover battle, the Dream's four-out, one-in spacing adjustment, and a record shooting performance going to waste in Atlanta.

Tremendous—you can see, in the second clip, the Dream prepping for the Valkyries' tipoff set from their last game, against Minnesota. Iverson cut with a high cross screen into an empty pick-and-roll for Tiffany Hayes (or the #15 facsimile)

Rhyne Howard was moving and active in practice for #AtlantaDream today. The Dream guard missed Atlanta’s game against the Seattle Storm on Thursday with an upper body injury. Howard earned her third #WNBA All-Star nod when the league announced the reserves for the upcoming

4. Finally (of course there was more to the win, including keeping a lid on the basket on defense), Aliyah Boston turned up to stretch the lead late, getting to the paint (notice the secondary post seals and low strength on the block) and scoring 8 of her 12 points in the fourth.

3. Natasha Howard pushed the lead with big buckets in the paint. A deserving MVP on both sides of the court, she had 10 points in the second half and led the Fever with 16 points and 12 boards.

2. Consistently made the pass to beat the nail help: got some threes off of it and kept the offense moving smoothly. Cunningham floating higher and higher on the arc got her some good looks and complicated the Lynx's paint help.

Four (of many) offensive keys to success in the Indiana Fever's Commissioner's Cup Final win: .1. Cuts—kept them afloat in a poor-shooting first 15 minutes and, as Stephanie White promised, forced rotation that proved useful.

Two clips I didn't get to use: the natural relocation three could become an even more useful part of her game going forward, and other natural offball fluidity from the progression of the offense (weakside backscreen off a clear-out cut)
