We will not accept a world where thousands are digitally excluded, or where illegal working is allowed to continue undeterred. A new digital credential helps us to fix both those things - and more.

Pleasure to do keynote @UCLPolicyLab @FutureGovForum. Disruption is a way of doing politics. Meeting anger with energy. Taking on defenders of the status quo. State reform is key to backing working class people and unlocking this country’s potential.
"It is a demonstration that the mantle of disruption can be done in service to a politics and governing project rooted in place, one that reaches across the country and across politics." Reflections from Britain Renewed and @joshsimonsmp keynote. https://t.co/iaAaEijteW

When trust is broken, we must be brazen, to show we’ll do what it takes to deliver for working class people. That means disruption. Taking on defenders of the status quo. We needn’t fear failure, because for millions, our economy has been failing for years.

POV: government's fraud bill is now LAW. This 📃 will help the Government to proactively identify and recover billions of pounds 💷 lost to fraud.

Birth rate is BIG problem for UK. Needs more attention. But why are we surprised? I can vouch (two kids U5 and third on way) - IMPOSSIBLE to have kids + save for home. I’m MP, got a PhD etc For many, kids + £ insecurity = 20s/30s/40s, frankly, shit. https://t.co/8AeKTjOpna

Everything we do in policy should focus on place. We all experience the world through where we live and who we live with. One budget measure that hasn’t gotten enough attention today is place based budgets in five mayoral strategic authorities. Alongside Pride in Place, test,

Great to speak to @IndCommAlliance this morning. Industrial communities like the ones I represent are not a problem to be fixed, they are the future of our country.

Next week, @ShabanaMahmood will announce measures to grip our borders. A few, some won’t like. But this country needs migration in the national interest - people who join to make us stronger. For that, we need secure borders. Democracy itself depends on borders. To make the

Democracy depends on data - accurate, independent, trusted information. That’s why for me, restoring confidence in the ONS is a top priority. Today, I appeared before the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee to outline how we will improve its work for the

My constituents have been dealing with this in their backyard for MONTHS. It is a DISGRACE. Those responsible should be put behind bars. https://t.co/ulksKitgqa

Who writes this garbage? The UK will NOT force anyone to give up their data. You WILL be able to access GPs, schools, pub services w/out digi ID. Digi ID can be a portable ledger for ppl to control their data, eg other countries. Are we now so defeatist we think we can’t
A free, universal digital ID is a public good. A foundation for the future, that will give all of us as citizens more control over what the state does for us. This is long overdue and I’m excited we’ll get it done.

This is nonsense. Let me say loud and clear. I am a citizen first, MP second - family, community, country. All public technology must be available for EVERYONE - MPs included.
@joshsimonsmp Why are MPs exempt if it’s so good? You’re exempt due to the security risks, that’s why. That’s the official reason so don’t try and weasel your way out. History repeating, that you look lot after yourself and shaft the country.
