At least P22 billion worth of cold cash could have been received by Zaldy Co as kickbacks from gov’t flood control projects, based on ICI interim report. My story here:

In its interim report, ICI breaks down amount of money delivered to Co's alleged residences. Each delivery needs at least 7 vehicles, each with 5-6 large luggage. Each luggage could contain P50 million. In 2022, 5 deliveries made; 2023, 4; 2024, 6, 2025, 1. @manilabulletin

According to former DPWH engineers Henry Alcantara and Brice Hernandez, Villanueva also asked them in 2022 to build a mutipurpose bldg that was budgeted P1.5 billion, but only at a cost of P600 million. Villanueva, in a statement, maintained his innocence. @manilabulletin

Protesters on Friday held a rally outside ICI headquarters in posh BGC, noting that until now, no one is put into jail over flood project anomaly. ICI, in defense, says it’s still about 40 days old, and resources are limited, but it moves quickly. @manilabulletin

UPDATE: ICI joins protesters in its sentiment against corruption. In a statement, it says it’s one with the protesters who stormed its headquarters in Taguig City in demanding accountability of those involved in the anomalous flood control projects. @manilabulletin

The council reported at least 10 alleged ghost flood projects, amounting to P700 million. The report was led by Vice Mayor JC Castro, belonging to political party different from that of Mayor Mac Marcos.

Interesting development in flood control project controversy! Paombong, Bulacan seeks ICI's help to investigate ghost projects in their municipality. The request was filed by the municipal council—led by the vice mayor—and not by the mayor.
