It's incredible what happens when people are able to vote on fair, non-gerrymandered maps. The 2018 ballot initiatives to institute independent redistricting commissions are an unspoken MVP here tonight.

One q: didn't a court force NY to redraw its districts, which lead to the Democrats getting drubbed there in a bunch of House races?

@chrislhayes
Can you imagine a world with no gerrymandering, no voter suppression tricks or even no electoral college?
It'd show just how minority their minority rule really is
A minority scared to death of our countries changing demographic & willing to do anything to hold on
Anything.

The Ohio GOP just ignored our ballot initiatives for fair redistricting. Then they ignored the OH Supreme Court when it ruled more than once that their new maps were unconstitutional. And all of these clowns incl the governor & his son on the supreme ct got re-elected tonight 🤬

Yes but have you considered that fairness is unfair to the people everyone likes less?
I think we should make it less fair for the normies and easy for the fash because the fash pinky-promise not to consolidate power and rule against the people’s will (please ignore Wisconsin)

They need to start using the power they just gained immediately and extremely effectively. They have a lot of challenges ahead, but should they succeed quickly Michigan can be used as a Democratic example of collective progress to show the country.
