I happen to live in a small town where caring about each other as people is paramount over national politics, which is not to say we don't care, but the starting point is "What do we agree on?" Everyone should be so lucky -- but it can happen in urban communities too.

I sort of knew who he was, but not really very well. Listening to him in recent days I found he was not by any means a hateful person, and while he had principles and opinions, he had an open heart and an open mind.

I'm thinking that one result of the Charlie Kirk situation is that people will look in more detail at what he actually said, and many will realize they believed he was not what they thought he was, and will question their sources of misinformation.

ICYMI Dixie Technical College press statement. As a technical college graduate myself (eventual MSEE) I can confidently say that this school was not a home for radical indoctrination.

Dixie Technical College can confirm Tyler James Robinson is a third-year student in the electrical apprenticeship program. We aren’t able to provide any additional information due to federal student...

What I ended up doing about it was DM her that Kirk never said gay people should be stoned to death. I hate being told when I am wrong, and so I also hate telling friends they are wrong. Even if it turns out I was wrong, I just hate being told.

Never play chess with a pigeon. The pigeon just knocks all the pieces over. Then shits all over the board. Then struts around like it won.

Is there a disproportionate number of young killers from the classes of 2021 & '22, who spent a year (or more) of high school sitting alone in their bedrooms on a screen? Or am I just imagining that?
I know some people won't like to hear this, but I think the main problem here isn't this killer's ideology. It's that the internet radicalizes people to do increasingly greater violence on a scarily regular basis and nobody really knows what to do about it.

I do not endorse this,I am posting it as an example meme from FB. A friend posted it without lifting a finger to check whether any of it is true. From what I do know, almost all of it is blatantly false, although in some cases it is based on out of context quotes that sort of

Which is the most irrelevant bu!!s#it I have seen in the media narratives.
Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in a state that has permissive gun laws and allows firearms to be concealed or openly carried without a permit in most instances, experts said. https://t.co/38HXQ6cJ4U

I really never knew a lot about him. I followed him on X because I read some things where he thinks men can't become women, which I agree with. Other than that, I didn't even know how old he was until yesterday.

Ok I'm convinced of one thing, after studying various commentary including what friends say: people's negative reactions to Charlie Kirk are not based on what he said, but what people are being told he said. He criticized affirmative action, but in and of itself that's not

I know of some women who were not Charlie Kirk’s biggest fans and they were in tears over what happened and they did not even see the video. What happened is going to radicalize millions.
May an entire generation of college-aged men be red pilled. And may the Democratic Party never win a national election again because of it.

It is kind of quirky because I followed Charlie Kirk just as another source of information, and now he is dead. Hard to get my head around this,

When I was a paperboy in 1968 I delivered the news of the MLK and RFK assassinations, and I am just as saddened by the Charlie Kirk assassination.

In memory of Charlie, I urge every major American university, especially the Ivy League and New England’s small liberal arts colleges, to invite conservative speakers to their campuses and to welcome them. Academia cannot be a no go zone for conservatives. Charlie would welcome

The most interesting trend I have seen is the number of detransitioners who credit Charlie Kirk, because of his reasoned and principled approach to the topic. Not just @thepeacepoet99 there are several others.
Thank you, Charlie Kirk, for showing such compassion to the young trans 🏳️⚧️ identifying students you debated with. Seeing your work helped me get myself out of the woke cult and to leave transgenderism behind. You, sir, have helped to save a generation. @charliekirk11 has

This is such a good point. If you actually watch Charlie’s events—as opposed to the fake summaries—they are one of the few places with open and honest dialogue between left and right. He would answer any question and talk to everyone.
This gets even worse when you consider that Charlie Kirk—more than anyone else in America on the right or the left—built his platform making a good faith effort to model civil poltical discourse and debate in the public square. His entire project was built on reaching across

I live in a small town that tilts conservative, but is tolerant of many ideas. I do a lot of good community work in said town, and today I was able to tear myself awX for severalay from hours while I got some productive work done. (Lately I have been addicted to social media,
