“Hey Jon Yates, do a half marathon, it will be fun.” .… 12 weeks to go and getting there. (My first and last New Year’s resolution)

Much to do. Much of it very serious indeed. But today - amidst sombre reflections and joyous moments - were some signs of hope. Together, we can reduce violence - for all of our children. (End).

We also launched the Serious Change Funders Partnership with the Lottery, Children in Need and Sport England. We will learn together, lead together and push for change together to keep children safe. (I'm trying to remember what Simon said to the King that made us all laugh!)

It was good to see Cabinet Ministers taking reducing violence so seriously. Personally I will not forget is meeting Baroness Doreen Lawrence. I am still a little in awe many hours later. Few have stood for justice so consistently and bravely.

Today I joined young people who were victims of violence and parents who have lost young ones at an event organised by the Palace to connect with some pretty influential people to talk about what needs to change. There was much to talk about.

Who gets a Hollywood megastar, the Prime Minister and two Cabinet Ministers in the same room to talk about reducing violence? Simple. The King. An encouraging 🧵 on a good day. (1/5)
