Young said after the win that his new prototype is "very, very similar to what I was playing before, it's just a tiny bit different." . The difference? Could be even less spin. "I've always been a super high spin person, so it's really just trying to manage that," Young said.

Titleist hasn't released details on Cameron Young's Pro V1x prototype, but the man playing the ball did offer some clues. He was playing Left Dot before this week, which is a model that delivers lower spin at the top.

Safe to say the results matched what Young saw during the practice round. Maiden tour 🏆. Six-shot margin. Now we wait and see if the CPO eventually makes its way to the masses… Maybe as a limited run offering?.

Then came the shot that sold Young. Faced with a par 3 that normally played between 184–225 during the tournament, Young figured he’d need a 5-iron to get there. But just for the hell of it, he grabbed a 6.

The practice round started with Young hitting V1 Left Dot (his previous ball) and the V1x proto, but he stopped using Left Dot by the second hole. It was just V1x proto from that point forward.

“We weren't sure if he was going to test it this week, but as he was warming up, he asked to hit a couple on the range,” Pitts said. “He was then curious to see some shots out on the course.”.
