So I have public restaurant chain same-store sales data dating back to 2007. Before 2020, there was one instance in which a restaurant chain generated 20%+ same-store sales. That was Popeyes in 4Q 2019. Since 2023, we've had 10 such instances, including twice above 30%, both

CFA wasn't the first chain to do the two-story drive-thru concept, Taco Bell was. But CFA probably has the volumes to support such a thing, more so than TB. Anyway, CFA's unit volumes stagnated last year. Up just 0.1% after years of constant increases, which means the average.

Guest counts would be great. But guest counts on their own tell you only one number, just like the comps number does. You can get positive guest counts and lower sales and weak profitability. Or you can lose money. See: Red Lobster, all-you-can-eat shrimp.
@jonathanmaze This is what I never understood about looking at restaurants numbers . To me up in sales isn’t the important number . The important number is Guest count you can show negative guest counts and positive sales just because of price increases . It would be nice to know the GC.
