Project #1 will primarily involve oxygen isotope analysis, from any/all of carbonates (incl. ostracods), diatom silica or cellulose, with sites from Kangaroo Island (SA) and south-west WA. Project #2, with @john_tibby will focus on diatom analysis (modern and fossil).

Applications are due (via Earthworks) on 30/May/2024. You must be able to commence the PhD here in Adelaide before 31/December/2024 - these are the funding rules I'm afraid.

Applications are welcome from either domestic (Australian) or international candidates. You will work with myself, @john_tibby and a host of local/national/international, including @AlexFra_palaeo. We have a vibrant, diverse and supportive research group with great facilities 3/n.

The projects are linked to my Australian Research Council Future Fellowship, 'Past trends and future risk of climate extremes'. The aim being to better constrain climate variability and the drivers of multi-decadal extremes in droughts/floods/fires. 2/n.
