Is it just me or are the proposals for the Cambridge Guildhall, market square and corn exchange spectacularly underwhelming for a city with supposed global ambitions 🤔.

This is a great piece and has to be part of the Cambridge Growth Narrative - imagine if we could have direct LNER services from Liverpool St to Peterborough, Leeds, Newcastle and Scotland plus faster services to Birmingham and the West Mids🤔.

Wow, Bennetts architects produce some good work but this looks to completely dominate the street scene- add in Mills and Reeve and upcoming Botanic place opposite and the whole area character/feel completely changes to ‘corporate anywhere’ .

With the upcoming local elections interesting that nobody standing for county council positions seems to be talking about the state of the cities road. Hobson Street has disintegrated and is a main bus route, Hills Rd is an increasing shambles as are parts of Trumpington Rd

Interesting reading the conclusion of the planning inspectorates report on Honey Hill. It somewhat puts Ministers on the back foot to justify the approval if there is a JR or appeal on the decision and is pretty conclusive in relation to adopted policy. This could get interesting.
