While I agree with the sentiment, I wouldn't mind if researchers think like this as long as they have vision. I'd rather have confident researchers drive their alternative agenda, rather than a lukewarm pursuit, creating more efficient exploration of ideas.
How can someone very confidently claim that LLM are not pathway to AGI, when its clearly the most successful thing ever happened in ML? I would get it if they say "its unlikely" or something, but "It will *NEVER be the road to AGI* is such a radical claim.

1/6 🧵on LEXICO: Dictionary Learning meets KV Cache Compression. LEXICO can compress the KV cache down to 15-25% with minimal acc loss. The core idea? Represent the KV vectors as sparse linear combination sof atoms from a learned dictionary .≈ SAE for keys and values.
