he tells himself that he's okay with the friendship that they have, but how long will it be until that won't be the case anymore? what if your feelings for her only continue to grow? you wish to preserve this friendship for the sake of her happiness, but what about yours?

especially since this is the first time both rintaro and kaoruko have ever dated at all, all of these things are new to them. it's really nice seeing them learning how to love each other and expressing their love for one another in a way that feels just natural and rewarding.

something i love about kaoru hana is how we actually get to see how their relationship slowly progresses. things like compliments, using their first names, holding hands, giving gifts, kissing, etc... we see them go from being embarrassed about it to it becoming routine for them.

yall remember when kaoru hana dropped the anime announcement PV and literally every single person in the fandom had this pfp because they just never dropped any new visuals or information about the anime until like 8 months later

the more i think about this backstory, the more i think about how this could've easily been rintaro and kaoruko in this situation ๐

matsukasa's boyfriend blaming himself for everything ๐ and the fact that this is something rintaro would've done if it was kaoruko in this situation...

she didn't think the chidori boys could be so... heartless. she hadn't seen someone care so little about another person before. (that being said, this still isn't valid justification for labeling ALL chidori kids as "creatures")

a bit of a continuation of this thread, it wasn't just that she had been negligent of the "flowers" she had grown, but moreso, she didn't think someone would destroy them so mercilessly. *that's* why she considered them like monsters.
i've been thinking a lot abt the symbolism of the "flowers" we keep seeing revolving around toki and the series as a whole (since it's name is literally "the fragrant flower blooms with dignity") and i feel like w/ this chapter, were finally starting to understand its meaning ๐งต

how was toki meant to predict that she would fall down a hill?? and it wasn't like the chidori guys did it intentionally either. sure they didn't gaf after they did it but like it wasn't like they deliberately went out of their way to harm a kikyo student ๐ญ

i get that matsukasa had only told toki about going to the festival but like... there's a reason why she only opened up to toki about it instead of her own father.

i had known that toki blamed herself for what had happened but i didn't think it would be matsukasa's dad that forced her into thinking that way? it's so unfair that he shoved all the blame onto toki as if he isn't also the adult in this situation.
