This work from our lab analysing the 100k ciliopathy cohort revealed opportunities for improved diagnosis rates, requiring better phenotyping data to facilitate accurate variant interpretation. Analysis of structural and splice variants improved diagnostic yield.
Delighted to see our commentary article in AJMG discussing lessons learned from analysis of the 100,000 Genomes Project ciliopathy cohort @GabrielleWheway @MrGenePoole @johnsoncilialab @ChrisM_Watson @GenomicsEngland

Our Stem Cell group members spent all of yesterday extracting bovine photoreceptor outer segments (POS) using the fantastic Parinot et. al. protocol! These will be used to assess phagocytosis in retinal pigmented epithelium we have derived from iPSCs carrying patient mutations.
