Not sure what it is about vintage blue #Volkswagen vans but this is the second one I have seen survive the fires in Los Angeles. Every single thing around them burned… but the blue Volkswagens survived. #EatonFire

While at the fires, I try to check on as many homes as I can when asked but I can’t do them all. But, Using our helicopter with map overlay is a great way for people to see if their home is ok. I know @kcalnews will do more of these videos in coming days.

The owners of this home on McNally Ave in #Altadena told us they had 23 motorcycles inside that all burned… including some rare Ducatis. All you can see now are the charred tail pipes. #EatonFire #Ducati

Block after block after block of utter destruction here in #Altadena from the #EatonFire. I just can’t process yet how destructive this fire was. Neighborhoods are a monochromatic hell scape. Some of the only color I could find were the citrus trees with fruit still hanging on.

The Altadena Senior Center is burning to the ground. Firefighters say the fire hydrants up here are dry and they have to keep driving elsewhere to refill their tanks and come back up to continue the fire fight. The famous Christmas Tree Lane also on fire. #EatonFire #Altadena

One person is dead and 18 others injured after a small plane crashed into a warehouse near #Fullerton Airport today. Security camera footage captured the crash and fireball that followed. @michelegiletv @kcalnews

The last full moon of 2024 is a "Major Lunar Standstill" which only happens once every 18.6 years. This means the moon rises in the its furthest northern position on the horizon and will set in its furthest southern position. Next time this will happen is in 2043. @kcalnews

The car is still burning but most of the brush part of the fire has been knocked down. And onward with my commute home I go.

Thankfully winds are light and it’s not spreading quickly but it’s always worrisome seeing a brush fire start in the Sepulveda Pass given past history with fires in this area
