The experience has been worth it... Meme Coins are mental but they're more than a game; they're are a window into culture, society and speculation in the digital age, where nothing and everything is real.

What happens now is anyones guess.. Will a weekend print article breath new life into the coin or has the fleeting moment of meme coin media passed.. This is Johnny Coin at the time publication 7.50am on Saturday morning..

The coins tanked further but after midnight on Frriday the coins had a market cap of about $170k

The Johnny Coin holders waited anxiously for the article (actually they probably forgot all about it) In the mean time I began writing the piece which went through the extensive production process

The Medium article was hilarious as were the fabricated quotes!

Starved of attention Johnny Coin tanked. But the community got behind the coin. There was an official Telegram channel and even a Medium blog post about it!

But the situation got a little tense. Traders wanted me to promote it. They didn't trust the authenticity of the coin and future coverage.. I had to either prove this was not a scam by tweeting about it, or it would crater. But if I did, I'd be pumping the coin. We sat back.

it kept going... past $US3.45m! and headed toward $US6m

All hell broke loose. Johnny Coin mooned! The market cap went from $20,000 to $100,000... That meant it graduated to an exchange.

The first 23 hours of Johnny Coin were uneventful. Other than a few excitable comments, it was mostly friends and family banter hinting at what a dumb idea it is

We asked the regulator about meme coins. They pointed us this guidance.

This was a meme coin like no other. Unlike other coins were weren't trying to make money (we decided to never sell) this was created purely to see would happen...We were later told it was the first time a journalist had ever made a meme coin before.

The hardest part about making a meme coin was moving $A out of my bank account on to an exchange and into a Solana wallet to seed the meme coin. This involved countless identity checks including a selfie video to prove I was a real person.
