🔥"John Nosta's latest in @PsychToday—'AI, the Circle, and the Shadow'—is essential reading. He reframes AI not as rival or replica, but as the sine-wave shadow of human consciousness: fluent yet weightless, precise yet unmoored. Must-read for anyone navigating the corridor where

Metamaster @JohnNosta thinks beyond his thinking. He moves minds deeper, wider, and higher into knowns, unknowns, and unknowables about AI and our emergent “digitalselves.” Yes, one neologism for the forecast oneness illustrated in his 5⭐️ #TheDigitalSelf series in @PsychToday.

🧵1/3. Believability Over Truth We’ve entered a world where what feels true outweighs what is true. The new gatekeeper of reality is emotional coherence, not evidence. 🤔Today, we face a crisis. How do you defend truth when belief has become the stronger currency? 👇👇👇

“As far as we can tell from a purely scientific viewpoint, human life has absolutely no meaning. Humans are the outcome of blind evolutionary processes that operate without goal or purpose. Our actions are not part of some divine cosmic plan, and if planet earth were to blow up

Listen. I’ve been building technology for 30 years. The current version of AI is a dangerous experiment, not because it’s ever going to become super-intelligent, but because it’s an even more potent “algorithm” than social media for installing psychoses. Keep your kids away.

@JohnNosta AI isn’t making us stupid, it’s making us ‘confidently blind.’ Superb description, John. We ARE trading the friction of thought for the ‘comfort of coherence.’ Hammer and nails though, it is not just a psychological flaw in my view. Rather it is a technical failure of Data

von Neumann gave us "zero-sum" in 1944 and it's one of my favorite examples of linguistic compression. Two words that mean “strictly competitive, fixed pie, stop looking for win-wins.” The term's real gift: it reveals the default human assumption that life is chess and value
