Wrestling camps are meant to be more than teaching cool moves

When people ask me for my credentials for clinics and they ask me for my HS state titles I cringe. Like I wrestled in college wtf how would hs add to my resume? Like do you want my Tulsa titles too? How about my record at Wildwood duals….

Summer 2025. 55 camps, 25 states, 1 goal- show kids how to fall in love w wrestling.

I do not want every state to have 1 division. I understand divisions. But 2-3 makes sense. Virginia has 6. 6 divisions w 16 man brackets is 1344 qualifiers. 3 divisions w 32 man brackets is also 1344. Same amount of qualifiers with better match ups as tournament progresses.

My take that states need less divisions is NOT a participation trophy take. It comes down to- does a better product (more competitive) encourage more kids to wrestle, or more schools qualifying (more divisions). I believe better comp sells the sport to both fans and new kids.

If tougher competition (less divisions) didn’t help states, then why have tough competition in your own room? Why not use the same logic and tell kids at practice to avoid each other because it will promote more kids to “want to wrestle”?.

I talk shit on herr and just debate wrestling but let it be known if ppl ever listened to @CoachGoodale ‘s takes wrestling would be 10 years in the future.

I’ve always been against more divisions at HS states. Does it make AD’s happy with more schools getting qualifiers? Sure. But it promotes complacency not just amongst athletes, but amongst coaches who now don’t have to fundraise as hard or be as present in the off season.

Ive always had the opinion that tougher competition throughout the year fosters better wrestling as a whole. If I have to wrestle shitty kids all season I don’t need to train as hard and make good choices.

North Carolina is moving to 8 divisions for wrestling. How is having 8 state champs good for sports? I don’t want to hate on the state as a whole, there is some good kids but if anyone wonders why their state goes 0-2 at Fargo every year it’s not rocket science. @SportsNchsaa.

Im only interested if they dont mind me getting arrested now and then for jumping off large buildings.

A lot of ppl dk I helped out there a couple times a week this year. And after the program was cut not only did they say we cant give any interviews, they took all our socials away before the season was even over. You are fucking cowards @CSU_Athletics especially Kelsie.
