Big news everyone! I’m starting a new weekly podcast with

Hawks now 39-39. They have scored 9,209 points and allowed 9,210. They are 24-24 against the East and 15-15 against the West. They have been within one game of .500 for 72 consecutive days.
you might beat them twice in a row, or five times in a row, or even 11 times in a row. But nobody, and I mean NOBODY, beats the Los Angeles Lakers 12 times in a row.
Are the Knicks a simulation? They are now 5-5 with a +0.0 point differential. They are 16th in offense, 16th in defense, and 15th in SRS. They have played five home games and five road games. They are 1-1 in overtime.
A Philadelphia team coached by Doc Rivers with James Harden on it blowing a 3-0 lead might break the Internet. I mean that seriously might be the thing that does it.
If not traded, Iggy's camp needs to be a bit careful they don't burn bridges to the point he gets Ben Gordoned -- Charlotte cut him on March 2 a few years ago, mere hours after playoff eligibility deadline, just to nuke his chances of signing with a playoff team.
Lakers’ LeBron James on Thunder GM Sam Presti: “The MVP over there is Sam Presti… I don’t understand this guy’s eye for talent. He drafted KD, Russ, Jeff Green, Serge Ibaka, Reggie Jackson, Josh Giddey. … This guy is pretty damn good.”
Excited to see fans of the team that was No. 30 in free-throw differential complain about the free-throw diferential in their game against the team that was No. 1 in this category.
A lot of Nuggets games are "fake close" like this. Non-Jokic minutes will give you hope, but if you don't have the lead when Jokic checks back in for final time in the 4th, you're dead.
1) This is NOT why Denver lost
2) Crew had a rough night both ways, but ...
3) I'm sorry you absolutely cannot cannot CAN NOT miss this call as an NBA ref. Aside from the ball obviously going down, any time a player reaches behind him like that you know it's 100% a goaltend
Best practice guy we ever had.
One story: Once, during a shooting competition, he's looking for somebody to talk shit to besides his opponent, and sees me on the sideline. So he starts yelling "the PER formula does NOT account for this!" after every make.
Salute. 👏🙌
Then like four minutes later, Josh Giddey threw this thing off of a sideline out of bounds play. A. sick play by the OKC staff. B. Look at the anticipation on this ball from Giddey. Shai still behind the 3-point line, throws it the second SGA gets the leverage toward the rim.
I know it’s that time where everyone rags on Embiid. But I’m not gonna go hard on a guy that rushed back after surgery and is obviously playing through a fucked up knee. Most guys wouldn’t have rushed back. Overall he’s played well in the series.
Re: trade deadline, NBA teams kind of have an unofficial truce on Super Sunday .... spend one last day with fam, then have a big staff meeting Monday mid-morning, and then the phones go a-blazin'.
Cameron Payne, who had washed out of the NBA and was playing in China last year, just had 29 points and 9 assists in a conference finals game and is getting interviewed on SportsCenter right now.
So many similarities between me and James Harden:
* Both have initials JH.
* Both are left-handed.
* Both spent the last month in Atlanta not really exercising much.
While Patrick Mahomes and Kyler Murray goof off at an NBA playoff game, Carson Wentz is at home drinking protein shakes and watching film as he prepares to the lead the Washington Commanders to the Super Bowl.
ACC regular season titles in last decade:
Virginia - 5
Duke - 0
Give Duke credit though, they've got a nice little program and nearly pulled the upset tonight.
Lakers cost themselves roughly $5M in tax payments and a small trade exception by not just sending cash to another team to take DeAndre Jordan at the trade deadline. Hey, it's the Buss's money, but that's some FO malpractice right there.
KD in third quarter last night: F this, I'm guarding Luka. Not allowing switches to happen, waving off help, diving on loose balls, drew two offensive fouls on screeners. Inspiring stuff even in defeat.
Milwaukee winning this spares us two weeks of unbearable Giannis-2021 commentary. Instead we'll just go back to ignoring one of the greatest team seasons in NBA history.
🇨🇭Celebrate now, Espana. It won't seem so funny when you're trying to top your summer salad with a rock-hard Manchego instead of the creamy smoothness of a Swiss goat cheese that tastes like a fresh meadow. 🇨🇭
Reminder for fake trade creators: Nets aren't doing a deal to tank. Houston owns their next five drafts. It's gotta be something for real basketball players.
The Rockets and Wizards have discussed a deal centered on Russell Westbrook for John Wall, sources tell
@TheAthleticNBA
@Stadium
. No traction yet, Rockets are seeking more assets.
The Philadelphia 76ers will extend a qualifying offer to center Paul Reed, league sources told
@hoopshype
. Reed will become a restricted free agent after appearing in a career-high 69 regular-season games for the Sixers last season.
While you debate whether Desmond Bane is worth $207 million, consider that the Grizzlies will not spend one single second in the next six years worrying about what Desmond Bane is up to.
People think I'm crazy when I say this, but I've long argued that coaches should play video games to get reps on late/close decisions. There's still stuff in NFL/NBA that is obvious to gamers but real life coaches struggle with.
Like everyone else, referees make mistakes. We made one at the end of last night’s game and that is gut-wrenching for us. This play will weigh heavily and cause sleepless nights as we strive to be the best referees we can be.
If Mark Jackson leaves for a coaching job, ESPN will need to find his replacement for the NBA Finals.
It’s a no-brainer,

it's so lame because they have plenty of talented people there who could explain *why* things are happening instead of just poetry slamming the box score.
Stephen A's halftime analysis is always some form of "STAR PLAYER answered the call, but OPPOSING STAR PLAYER and NEXT-BEST PLAYER? That's not gonna cut it."
Free agent guard Jalen Brunson, armed with a five-year, $106M-plus Mavericks offer, is headed into a meeting with the New York Knicks within the hour, sources tell ESPN.
