This week's fun @AmberElectricAU IoT discovery is that some inverters we integrate with are powered by the panels themselves, and when the sun goes down. they turn off. which looks identical to our systems as a comms error, so we just. ignore errors after dark. .

This is a fashion guy but my 3d printer feels personally attacked.
it's funny to me that in every hobby, spending more can mean getting a more durable item, but after a certain point, the thing is super delicate. and if you ask hobbyists why an expensive item is such a hassle to maintain, they look at you funny and say, "that's the joy".
