And then there's the £40k tax compliance costs in the previous year (over 50% of the audit fee). Even at Big 4 prices filing a tax return costs a couple of grand. Add in some group tax messing about and you might get to £10k so is that disclosure reasonable 🤔

That's before you dig into the £10m of redundancy costs when headcount only dropped by 3 🤯 Can I get a job please?!?

I'd love to see the same analysis on the Guardian's own accounts. It'll be a struggle because gross profit isn't reported (they use a Type 2 P&L format) but if that's what tax is calculated on...then the £15m deferred tax adjustment, sorry, I mean tax rebate is a scandal

If you're going to spew this kind of contemptuous BS at least do it with some skill and a modicum of understanding of the topic that is getting you so riled up. Otherwise you may as well get a slot on @GBNEWS

Talking of deferred tax the supposed rebate from us lowly tax payers of £4m in the previous year was a £5m deferred tax charge (another accounting adjustment) and £0.9m of corporation tax was paid...

Starbucks will only pay £2.9m corporation tax on taxable profits of £15.3m. Profit before tax is an irrelevant starting point. The remaining part of the tax charge is deferred tax - an accounting adjustment 🤦

.@RupertNeate @guardiannews this is lazy reporting and your facts are wrong. @IpsoNews Starbucks pays just £5m UK corporation tax on £95m gross profit
theguardian.com
‘Administrative expenses’ of £78m, including royalties, utilities and maintenance, helped bring taxable profits down to £13m

Recruiting and retaining auditors is hard, especially in today's environment. @crypjo091 and @john_toon explain how tools such as @Circit_io and @RequestNetwork can help make the profession as attractive as I believe it can be. https://t.co/7iQv5D3hwn

At accounting conferences I’ve presented at over the last few months, the issue of attracting and retaining staff has been brought up more than any

So @BorisJohnson is accusing his opponents of playing politics at #PMQs and yet it appears that it's him that has been playing all this time without referring to the rules. Disappointing, but not surprising, and means any future tightening of #COVID19 rules is utterly pointless
