Logging on to this site every once in a while and it just keeps becoming more blatantly and extremely racist, fascist, and pro-capitalist. Interesting combination, no?

Yes, that's my biggest problem. I believe that, for example, the ~300,000 children who've died so far because musk and trump illegally defunded USAID cared about me. That's why I'm sad, because they're not alive to care about me anymore

"Communist algorithm" 🙃 The algorithm is designed to maximize time on platform and ad click rates for profit, quite possibly the most capitalist system to ever exist

Refuse to be disempowered. Subscribe to your favorite blogs and read them in your inbox. Follow your favorite accounts and follow them in a linear feed (e.g., list). Read actual books. There's no need for a communist algorithm to tell you what information you should consume.

Every time I can't figure out why the algorithm is constantly showing me someone I don't follow it's because they're racists

I love all these people saying 2020 was some kind of peak in censorship. They are remembering their own fever dreams. There was almost no censorship, people spread tons of deadly misinformation during a pandemic and weren’t stopped at all

Had to get a few things off my chest. The political climate is as bad as I've seen it, with the possible exceptions of 2001 and 2020. https://t.co/Hz0sECE2DI

Perfect confirmation: Things cannot possibly be any better than this, so whatever you might think about what's going on just learn to accept and love it the way it is https://t.co/kDNxrWSkne

Given the evidence available at the time, perhaps Marx can be forgiven for thinking that capitalism, while better than feudalism, would be replaced by something better still—the same can’t be said about contemporary Marxists

The point is that the government does this rather than leaving it to individuals. The risk and benefits are collectivized. Chris would rather increase inequality, removing the floor from under some part of the population so others could become a million times wealthier

The rest of the world should unite and negotiate their trade deals with the US collectively rather than individually "America First" should mean "USA vs The Entire World," and the side with ~95% of people on this planet should win

Can anyone explain why other countries haven't started uniting into blocs to collectively negotiate against the US? It's one imbecile versus the entire world. Just team up and crush him, make the USA your lapdog!

This tweet is essentially misinformation There are so many caveats because of the research design that Mollick ignores completely, just uncritically signal boosting research put out by the company that stands to profit Imagine if this was about a drug with no clinical trials

It seems like there is not enough of a policy response to the fact that, with 57M miles of data, Waymo’s autonomous vehicles experience 85% less serious injuries & 79% less injuries overall than cars with human drivers. 2.4 million are injured & 40k killed in US accidents a year

One of (if not the) the best things to happen in my life, but, tragically, I don't know how any couple can do at least the first ~year while either partner has to work full time. Humanity as a species is abused, from birth, by the economy

i can't think of a non-cliche way to say this, but everyone who says having a kid is the best thing in the world is both correct and still somehow understating it.

I'm late to this, but the reason why many defenders of capitalism fixated on this tweet is that they cannot imagine reasons why slavery is bad *other* than that GDP would have been higher without it

Notice how the state/federal sources break down, this is also a geographic inequality (subsidizing states like Florida, Maine, Vermont, etc)

Per the Urban Institute, the federal government spends about $5 on seniors for every $1 it spends on kids. Between all levels of government, seniors get twice as much.

DOGE is a good demonstration of what happens when people use "AI" at work They have no idea what their own documents say, because they haven't read them They make (life or death) decisions based on hallucinations, and go on permanent public record as liars
