I’m lucky enough to be near one of the VERY few theaters playing HIGHEST 2 LOWEST. And it’s fantastic. Spike Lee still knows how to make his eclectic, indulgent, anything-goes style as thoughtful as it is ludicrously fun.

#FantasticFour is fine? Great stuff with the family element and retro vibes but really bland action and editing. Also my crowd gasped at the mid-credit scene like it wasn’t the most obvious reveal possible.

If I had a nickel for every director who made two of the best sci-fi sequels ever, one of which was to their own film and the other was to a Ridley Scott film, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

EDDINGTON is Ari Aster’s most solid work in a while. It takes a bit to get going, but it’s a wildly maddening satire of how easily exploitable political extremes are.

I love that the teaser for THE ODYSSEY is currently theater-exclusive. I am 100% on board with more movies doing that and getting some wonder back into movie trailers.

I can’t disagree/ It sucks when someone conveys an unpopular opinion poorly, because then they just make it look like the majority’s take is the one objective right answer.
Karsten Runquist’s Superman Review feels so anti-film in the end that it hurts. Beyond the Minecraft comparison, placing a film to stay in its lane, the aggressive tone mixed with elements that both show he doesn’t get these stories and characters. Everything he said is so off.

Alright, so #Superman is eccentric, warmhearted, funny, and has bits of gleefully biting satire. It’s also a giant effin mess that’s more concerned with wowing you than telling a story half the time. I liked it, but I came nowhere close to loving it. #SupermanMovie.

#NowSeated for #Superman. I’ve got some concerns (being overcrowded, overcompensating for past criticisms, being too inside baseball), but I’m hoping it can deliver the goods and be the first Superman movie I really like!.
