Interesting - given US threats to the IEA - that this agenda coincides with the US agenda. Expect to hear more about this and less about phasing out fossil fuels for renewables from the IEA.

Governments must work together on urgent action to make critical minerals supplies secure @IEA is *the* place to do this. In the past 5 years, we've invested heavily in minerals data, analysis & security policy capacities My new op-ed for @TIME ➡️ https://t.co/rTtjsSFFcE

Decent headline but @BBCNews piece doesn't ref (i) this 13km Amazon road was approved in 2020, long before #COP30 was a plan (ii) far bigger projects are underway... i.a. 885 kilometres of the BR319. Context is kinda key. https://t.co/fYQhIqwHo3

The infrastructure required to host COP30 in Belém is undermining the cause, campaigners say.

The road is only a few miles long, it is on the outskirts of a city, it was planned well before Belem was chosen to host COP30 and is going ahead now because of a change in city government. All nuances that will be ignored by anti-climate and click-chasing sections of media 🤦‍♂️

Scoop in @FT: Shell’s decision to invest a reported $5bn in the Bonga North deepwater field and future mega projects was tied to Nigeria approving its $1.3bn onshore asset sale to Renaissance, a deal previously rejected by regulators. https://t.co/jVYxsYfFjU

He seems to be saying the UK was an honourable exception. That the EU only reluctantly moved beyond $250bn. And he doesn’t mention the US at all, but they publicly said $250bn was a stretch.

Good to meet with 🇨🇳 Special Envoy for #ClimateChange Liu Zhenmin, ahead of #COP29. We discussed global climate challenges and raising our efforts in bringing down emissions. Climate finance is key and China’s engagement can be a game-changer for global efforts.
