This was a welfare check that was called in by KSP unit who lives nearby the address(he called it in to KSP.) The homeowner gave him permission to enter the home. The gunshot is said to be self inflicted.

UPDATE: Power has been restored. The outage was due to lightning.
Crews are on their way to restore an outage affecting approximately 150 members in the South Morgantown area. We will have power restored as soon as possible.

several wrecks happening on I-65 at around the 65-71. We are having some here as well. I just was busy. most are hydroplaned vehicles off the road. There is 1 in the middle of the road at the 70MM South Bound that is not moving to the side of the interstate.

Richardsville Fire Chief Brian Lee said the second floor apartments in the office building were where the fire originated. No one was home at the time but he said “several pets perished in the fire.”
